Toscana interiore

Toscana Interiore is the photographic project in which Filippo Brancoli Pantera offers an authentic view of his homeland, far removed from the postcard clichés. Not the Tuscany of golden hills, cypress trees, and summer skies, but the real, everyday region—often rainy, especially in the north, where cities like Lucca record higher rainfall than Turin, Milan, and even Edinburgh. The work invites viewers to move beyond the tourist gaze—now internalized even by many Tuscans—to rediscover a more complex human and landscape geography, made up of places and atmospheres rarely represented in the common imagination.
